A Message to All HRI Members

Once again, events are moving toward the possibility that Donald Trump will fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller. It’s also possible that rather than firing Mueller, Trump will obstruct Mueller’s investigation by issuing blanket pardons of key figures being investigated, firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (the person overseeing Mueller), or taking other actions to prevent the investigation from being conducted freely.

Any of these events will require an immediate and visible public protest.

MoveOn.org is coordinating emergency “Nobody is Above the Law” rallies around the country in the event they are needed. More than 200,000 people nationwide have already confirmed their attendance.

Rallies will begin just hours after national events are triggered:

If actions are triggered BEFORE 2 p.m. local time —> events will begin @ 5 p.m. local time.
If actions are triggered AFTER 2 p.m. local time —> events will begin @ noon local time the following day.

HRI will join the events planned by MoveOn in these locations:

The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington, DC – Primary Location
The U.S. Capitol – Southeast Corner, Washington, DC – Alternate Location
Rep. Comstock’s Office, 21430 Cedar Drive, Sterling, VA 20164 – Alternate Location

If you have not already done so, please register with MoveOn to receive direct notification via e-mail if and when the events are triggered.  The link to register on the MoveOn website is:

HRI will also send notification to all members via e-mail and will post information on the HRI Facebook page and website following MoveOn’s lead.  If you plan to use the Metro, please purchase a fare card in advance to avoid long lines. If you have a bright yellow Herndon-Reston Indivisible t-shirt or scarf, wear it so we can find one another in the crowd.

Note: If you choose to attend an event, you agree to engage in nonviolent, peaceful action and act lawfully.
